Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
GCSE Classroom Ltd (trading as Classroom 42) — Version 2.0
Version 2.0 — Effective 27/08/2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Classroom42 uses cookies and similar technologies at https://classroom42.com and its subdomains. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and, where cookies involve personal data, the UK GDPR.
2. Your choices
We only set non-essential cookies if you agree to them.
When you first visit, you will see a cookie banner offering two options: accept or reject. Rejecting is as easy as accepting — a single click, in the same place, with equal prominence.
Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless, because the site cannot work without them. All non-essential cookies remain off unless you select ‘Accept’
Users currently accept or reject all non-essential cookies rather than choosing categories individually.
We do not treat continued use of the site as consent. Scrolling, clicking, or navigating does not give consent to non-essential cookies.
3. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads and between visits — that you are logged in, what you have chosen, what you were doing.
“Similar technologies” means anything that stores or reads information on your device for the same purposes: local storage, session storage, and pixels. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers those too.
4. Categories we use
4.1 Strictly necessary — always active
Required for the site to function. Without them you cannot log in, stay logged in, or use the platform securely. These do not require consent under PECR, and cannot be switched off.
Includes: session management, authentication, security and anti-forgery tokens, load balancing, and remembering your cookie preferences.
4.2 Functional — consent required
Remember preferences that improve your experience but are not essential — such as interface settings or previously entered choices.
4.3 Performance and diagnostics — consent required
Help us understand how the platform performs and identify errors so we can fix them.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control cookies in your browser settings — deleting existing cookies, blocking new ones, or being prompted each time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the platform working.

• Safari
• Firefox
• Edge
6. Children
Classroom42 is used by pupils under 18. We do not use cookies to track children across sites, build advertising profiles, or serve targeted content. Cookies set on pupil accounts are limited to those needed to run the platform and, where consented, to diagnose faults.
7. Changes
We update this policy when our use of cookies changes. The version number and effective date at the top show when it was last revised. Material changes will re-prompt your consent choices.
